Redevelopment proposal for the Holloway Prison site

The Challenge

Group project for Master in Urban Design and City Planning at UCL. The Holloway Prison, which was the largest facility of its kind for women in Europe and operated from 1852 to 2016, is located within the London borough of Islington in the St. George’s administrative ward. With the Holloway Prison’s closure in 2016 has come a new opportunity for housing construction to meet local housing needs.

Minimum targets from stakeholders

• 1,000 new units

• 50% of these units should be affordable

The Approach

Developed 4 priorities and masterplan with group mates. Produced with Digimap, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and Vectorworks.

The Results

Community leader complimented masterplan at presentation. Happy tutor. Good grade!
