Urban Form Analysis in Holloway, London

The Challenge

Individual assignment for Master in Urban Design and City Planning at UCL on analysing 2 building types in Holloway, London. Part 1 of 2 of the Holloway Prison Redevelopment project.

The Approach

Chose a mid-rise court and high-rise tower for comparison. Conducted field visits and research on the building form. Analysed building types by Density Analysis, Spatial Analysis, Street Blocks, Roads and Streets, and Access and Permeability. Used Digimap, Adobe Creative Suite and sketches to produce report.

The Results

Provided insights on pros and cons of the 2 building types for the next part of the Holloway Prison Redevelopment project.
